"I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies." Psalm 18:3
David’s life was filled with struggles and victories. When the time came for him to step into royal authority, he knew that God’s timing had delivered him to that place. This Psalm was sung as a personal testimony by David to God, his Divine Deliverer, in a very personal, thankful manner.
This life Psalm of David is worthy of meditation for all of us. Several present day Scripture songs are derived from its 50 verses.
Here we see intimate “love” flowing from David’s heart. David recognized God’s hand upon his life, and he shares quite vividly a poetic picture of God’s presence. (v. 7-15)
David, like Moses, used the word “Rock” to describe the Lord. The unshakable God of salvation is the very foundation and source of our protection as well!
May we, like David, personally testify to Him of our love and devotion to Him each new day! The Lord lives, blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. (v. 46)
May we call upon the LORD with praise!
