A Faithful Witness - Week Forty-Three Greet Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who for my life (Paul) risked their own necks, to whom not only do I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; Romans 16:3, 4
The early Church was under attack by Rome. Priscilla and Aquila had to leave their homeland because of the dictates of a Roman edict. Their faith was not diminished however. From Acts 18:28 we see this couple evangelize in the city of Ephesus. They also must have risked their lives to rescue Paul out of some extreme difficulty. Their faithful witness was lived out in real time! They also had a church in their home. House churches were the birth place of the Church. Today we see the rebirth of house churches all over the world. As we ponder our faithful witness consider how you can be a blessing to persecuted Christians locally and around the world. First let’s pray for those who are fleeing their homelands because of persecutions!
Blessings to all,
Sandy Davis, for the team at Women In Discipleship (sm) womenindiscipleship.org – P.O. Box 694, Goldenrod, FL – 32733 – (407) 325-2986 sandydaviswid@earchlink.net
